- Hotel breakfast buffet
- Go out to free walking walking tour – guide is a little rough but get some information wouldn’t have had otherwise
- Walk back to try to catch the end of the parade – but only one band and we don’t wait for them
- Pack up and check out and carry stuff to the car around the block
- Drive by some of the old style houses we hadn’t seen yet
- Drive to Asheville listening to Pillars of the Earth audio book – until I’m feeling too sleepy and we stop it to talk and try the couple’s game – stopped for gas and Miriam got Starbucks coffee
- Suddenly truck started shaking when accelerating – slow down and get off the next exit – park and it’s still shaking – go to the bathroom and try to think about options and let truck sit – double check oil – test start and it seems ok – add petrol and get back on the highway – nervous but seems ok even going uphill
- Stop for dinner at Chick-fil-A, Miriam’s first time – Ben sends message, “mmm.. waffle fries” so we bring some to him
- Dog makes a lot of noise on arrival and Harper comes down to eat some fries before bedtime – then sit chatting with Ben for a while and Mandy comes home and joins before we all go to bed – Miriam and I sleeping in the airstream out back
