Apr 30, Wednesday (April, 2025)
- Get hotel buffet breakfast which isn’t bad but also isn’t great
- Go to the beach – get nice lime mocktail – take a short swim but Miriam stays at the shade of the beach bar
- Back to hotel to pack up and check out – while Miriam gets ready I work on updating my resume
- Drive is a little late to pick us up
- Go to Hai Van Pass – this is supposedly where my father was stationed during the Vietnam War – Miriam stayed by the old fortress, I walked up the steep road in the hot sun – found what I think was maybe the base – started back and realized I should try to go to the top – find a family having a picnic and chat with the boy a little, get offered an orange
- Driver brings us to Hoi An – we asked to stop for bahn mi, twice even, but he just brings us back – but then takes us to the famous bahn mi shop – so upset with him
- Go to tailors, but I don’t think they changed anything yet
- Get dinner at good restaurant again, this time trying some different things
- Walk around and Miriam decides to buy custom leather boots – while waiting I also choose some – and she gets sandals too – I’m almost certain they’ll all be too uncomfortable
- Walk around some more – find the Japanese jersey that I liked
- Get drinks along riverside boardwalk again, watching people go by, but while still looking at clothes, not quite the same as a few nights ago
